The Ardrossan Lookout provides excellent views of the surrounding area. Since BHP first began quarrying dolomite for the steel making trade in the early 1950s, the mound surrounding the mine has grown to provide a magnificent view over both the grain silo complex and surrounding coastline and the workings of the quarry itself. Accessible by car and caravan just south of Ardrossan on the coast road, there is plenty of parking space on top for you to stop and enjoy the glorious views and watch what's happening in the mine.
