A favourite with the locals, the Coffs Harbour Jetty is a great place to go for a stroll, sit and fish, photograph the sunrise, watch the swimmers, seabirds, canoe paddlers and cruising yachts come and go. You may even get a surprise and see the resident local dolphins leisurely swimming under and around the Jetty.
At the adjacent marina, the fishing fleet and boats go about their daily routine. Go whale watching in season (June to November), sip on a latte, enjoy an ice-cream or snack on fresh seafood or fish and chips from the Fishermen’s Co-op.
Take a short walk along the northern break wall from Coffs Harbour Marina to the nature sanctuary, Muttonbird Island. It’s a steep hike past breeding nests for wedge-tailed shearwater birds to the lookout, but worth it for spectacular views of the beaches, harbour, coast and hinterland.
